Let’s go in order:

The Chevelle: At the moment it’s more or less good. It’s got a coolant leak at the water neck (I caused it. In order to get it to run cooler I pulled the thermostat and yanked the spring so it’s open all the time, and probably didn’t get the gasket set right ) but otherwise is set.

Kinja'd!!!

The Camaro: I don’t think it’s getting fixed this year if I’m honest. Seems like we just can’t get it to Pap’s friend. I don’t know.

The Buick: Oh it’s pissed me off. I sort of fixed the hoses. It still whistles because the intercooler to turbo hose isn’t for a turbo. I have a turbo specific one but it’s too short and keeps moving off and creating a boost leak that tries to stall the car. Fixed that with the wrong hose. I’d have re-replaced it, but the fucking PowerMaster brake system appears to be kaput . Thankfully we have 2 brand new units in the rafters of the garage.

Mustang: This one’s also been pissing me off lately. First the fuel pump relay crapped out last month, no biggie. Then the ignition switch went. Irritating, but I fixed it. Now it’s pissing coolant in the driveway.

However, something much, much worse happened July 13th (actually the night the brakes quit on the National. I didn’t have him working on it other than for like 5 minutes before you ask). At like 12:30 AM, Mom got a call from my sister. Pappaw fell in the bathroom and couldn’t get up. We rushed over there to find the ambulance out front. I had to help him change so they could get him out of the bathroom. I’ve never been so scared in my life.

They found out his Potassium and Magnesium levels were really low (which is why he was shaking so bad).

A few days later, he was home, finally wearing his oxygen like we’ve been telling him to for months, and shake free. He may be the healthiest he’s been in a few years now.

It’s been a rough year.

(Oh, and yes, I was inspired by dtg’s post)
